Winners Announced In Project Yellow Light
Winners have been announced
in the annual “Project Yellow Light” scholarship competition. The nationwide
program has high school and college students create public service
announcements to educate their peers about the dangers of distracted driving. Julie
Garner is the founder of Project Yellow Light – she tells KFIZ News that the
project was started because of a tragedy in her own family.
“My son Hunter was killed at the agoe of 16, due to a car crash. When something like that happens to you, you pretty much want to die yourself. That’s really why we started this project was to keep his memory alive, and we wanted others to remember how he died, so that they wouldn’t repeat that same mistake.”
