Girls Tennis: 

Fond du Lac’s Melissa Petrinski lost in the opening round of the WIAA GIrls State Individual Tennis Tournament in Madison Thursday, falling to Miah Bohlen of Nicolet High School in Milwaukee 6-7, 6-1, 10-3

Cross Country: 

FVA Conference Meet: 

The Fond du Lac Girls Cross Country Team took fourth place at the FVA Meet on Thursday – Riley Collett took second place in the individual standings and was the top finisher for the Cardinals

The Fond du Lac Boys Cross Country team placed eighth at the FVA Meet in Kaukauna on Thursday. Henry Hughes took 19th place as the top finisher for the Cardinals. 

Flyway Conference Championship: 

North Fond du Lac/Oakfield won the Flyway Conference Boys Race, scoring 24 points. Xavier Lasee took first place in the individual standings with a time of 16:46. His teammate, Nolan Stark, took third place with fellow North Fondy/Oakfield runner Diesel Bosin placing fourth. 

Omro won the Flyway Conference Girls Race, scoring 51 points. Laconia took the top two spots in the individual standings, with Cyna Madigan placing first (20:23.7) and Allison Wright placing second (20:56.5). Winnebago Lutheran’s Chloe Dorst took fourth place (21:17.9). Lizzie Guerrin from St. Mary’s Springs placed sixth to lead the Ledgers with a time of 21:34.3. 

NBA:

Milwaukee 118, Minnesota 96

–Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 28 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and had three blocks as the Bucks won in the preseason finale at Fiserv Forum on Thursday night. Milwaukee finishes the exhibition slate with a perfect 5-0 record. The regular season opener is next Thursday in Houston

College Hoops: 

It should come as no surprise, but the UW-Oshkosh Men’s Basketball team is earning preseason recognition on a national level after winning its first national title last year. Street & Smith’s Basketball Yearbook has ranked the Titans number one in the nation in its preseason D-3 rankings. The Titans welcome back three starters and 12 letter winners from last year’s championship team, including senior Center Jack Flynn and senior forward Adam Fravert. Both Flynn and Fravert were named preseason All-America selections by the magazine. Oshkosh opens the season November 23rd against Elmhurst College of Illinois. 

College Football: 

The undefeated Wisconsin Badgers continue conference play Saturday when they travel to Illinois in Big Ten action  Wisconsin has won all six of its contests and is riding high after 38-0 pasting of Michigan State. It’s been three weeks since the U-W defense gave up a point. The Illini are on a four-game losing streak which has dropped their record to two-and-four – Illinois fell to Michigan last week 42-25. Kickoff is 11 am, coverage on the Badger Radio Network starts at 9 tomorrow morning on KFIZ.

–The Chiefs win despite losing Quarterback Patrick Mahomes to a dislocated right knee in the game.

–Astros lead series 3-1, they can win the ALCS and clinch a spot in the World Series with a win tonight in Game Five
