Jimmy Nelson threw 8 innings
of 2 hit baseball as the Brewers edged the Mets 4-1 at Miller Park
on Wednesday night.  Scooter Gennett
homered and Ryan Braun scored a run and drove in a run.  Francisco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless 9th
for his 15th save.  The series
wraps up this afternoon as Taylor Jungmann gets the start for The Crew.

Virginia won the College World Series with a 4-2 win over
Vanderbilt in the 3rd and deciding game of the series in Omaha, Nebraska
on Wednesday night.  It’s the first
baseball title for the Cavaliers.

 

The NBA Draft is
tonight.  The Bucks pick 17th
in the 1st round and they have the 46th overall pick in
round 2.  Minnesota has the 1st overall
pick.

Kaminsky and Sam Dekker expect to hear their names announced in the first round
tonight.  Guard Josh Gasser hopes that
someone takes a chance on him in the 2nd round.  Former

St. Mary’s Springs Academy
has been awarded the WSN Cup for the 2014-2015 high school sports season in the
Small School Division.  The WSN Cup is in
its eighth year, recognizing schools that provide and achieve success in many
of the WIAA sponsored sports. The award totals points earned in both boy’s and
girl’s sports. With a state championships in football and boys golf and a 2nd
place finish in girls track the Ledgers finished ahead of LaCrosse Aquinas.

 

The Fond du Lac Post 75 American Legion baseball
team swept a double header from Hortonville on Wednesday night winning 12-2 and
12-4 at Herr-Baker Field.  Jason
Schneider picked up the win in the opener while Jack Cole notched the win in
the night cap.  Ryan Norton went 4×5 with
six RBI in the double dip.  Post 75 will
host Oshkosh
tonight for a single game at Herr-Baker Field. 
The first pitch is set for 5:30pm.
