Jennings Not Extended
The Bucks failed to offer point guard Brandon Jennings a contract extension off of his rookie contract by yesterday’s deadline, meaning he will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season. The team will be able to match any offer he may get next Summer. Golden State’s Stephen Curry got a 4-year, $44 million dollar extension and Denver’s Ty Lawton got a 4-year, $48 million dollar extension earlier in the week. A deal for Jennings would have fallen in that same range. The Bucks open up the regular season on Friday night in Boston. You’ll hear the game on KFIZ.
Harden Extended
A few days after trading for James Harden, the Houston Rockets gave him a 5-year, $80 million dollar extension. He then went out and scored 37 points, dished off 12 assists and pulled down 6 rebounds in a win over the Pistons.
Veras Gone
MLB.com reports that the Brewers will put reliever Jose Veras on waivers. If he clears waivers, he will elect to become a free agent. Last season in 72 appearances he went 5-4 with a 3.63 ERA with 79 strikeouts and 30 walks.
