Spartans Beat Bucky
Big Ten leader Michigan State came to the Kohl Center and beat Wisconsin 49-47 on Tuesday night. George Marshall missed a pair of free throws with 3.5 seconds left that would have tied the game. Wisconsin was just 7-18 from the free throw line and shot less than 30% from the field for the game. The loss was the Badgers 2nd straight in Big Ten play after starting out at 4-0. Mike Bruesewitz led UW with 10 points as they drop to 13-6 overall.
Bucks Win Again
Ersan Illyasova scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and Brandon Jennings added 25 as the Bucks beat Philadelphia 110-102 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Monta Ellis added 18 points and 10 assists in the win. With All-Star reserves being announced on Thursday Jennings made one last statement to be named to the team. The Bucks are 6-2 since Jim Boylan took over for Scott Skiles and sit four games over the .500 mark.
KGB, Jacke Make Packers Hall of Fame
The Green Bay Packers announced on Tuesday that kicker Chris Jacke and defensive end Kabeer Baja-Biamila will be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame this summer. KGB is the Packers all-time leading sacker with 74.5 between 2000 and 2008. Jacke spent 8 seasons with the Packers, including their Super Bowl XXXI championship team and is the teams 3rd all-time scorer. He spent 8 seasons in Green Bay. Emil Fischer will also be enshrined this summer. He was the team’s president from 1948 to 1952 and also Chairman of the Board in 1953.
Cards Fall To Patriots
The Fond du Lac boys basketball team scored just 3 points over the 2nd and 3rd quarters and lost to Appleton East 33-32 last night at the Acuity Fieldhouse. The Cardinals trailed 19-11 after three quarters and a furious fourth quarter rally came up just one point short. Max Schebel scored 10 of his game high 14 in the fourth quarter. The loss drops the Cardinals to 6-6 in the FVA and 8-6 overall. They will travel to Oshkosh North on Friday night. You’ll hear the game on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.
