Winners advance to the Regional Semifinals on Thursday.

The Hierl Insurance High School Team of the Week is the Winnebago Lutheran Girls Volleyball Team. The Vikings swept Lomira last Thursday to clinch their first ever conference championship in the Flyway. The Vikings earned a #1 seed in their regional for the WIAA Playoffs and will host either Palmyra/Eagle or Dodgeland in the regional semifinals on Thursday.

College Football:

Badgers linebacker Leon Jacobs was named the Big Ten’s Defensive Player of the Week and running back Jonathan Taylor was named the conference’s Freshman of the Week after their performances in Saturday’s win over Purdue in Madison. Jacobs had nine tackles and an interception in the win, while Taylor had a career-high 30 carries for 219 yards and a touchdown. It was his third 200-yard rushing game of the season. The Badgers welcome Maryland to town on Saturday, kickoff is at 11am.

NFL:

The Packers have promoted quarterback Joe Callahan from the Practice Squad to the active roster and placed cornerback Quinten Rollins on Injured Reserve. Callahan will back up starter Brett Hundley, who will take the reigns from Aaron Rodgers who broke his collarbone in Sunday’s loss to Minnesota. Rollins left the game in the second quarter with an ankle injury.
