Gas Leak Forces Evacuation At MPTC

A gas leak discovered on Moraine Park’s Fond du Lac campus forced the evacuation of the campus Monday. The leak was found in the “E” wing, with campus officials immediately evacuating all students and staff. The Fond du Lac Fire Department as well as contractors were brought in to repair the leak and reduce gas levels.  

Scheduled classes at the Fond du Lac campus were canceled for the remainder of Monday, including evening classes. Classes outside of the E wing will continue as scheduled. As of Monday evening, it was not known how long it would take for crews to rectify the situation. It was determined there was no risk to the rest of the campus, and employees were appropriately relocated for the remainder of the workday.  Students and staff on campus are being asked to avoid the impacted area. 

Students should expect further communication from their instructors regarding location changes to classes on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
