>>Packers Injury Report Includes 13 Names, But Only 1 Missed Thursday’s Practice

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Packers center Corey Linsley is expected to miss some game time with his knee injury, but every other player on Green Bay’s roster practiced Thursday.  Some were limited in their participation.  The Packers injury report for the Philadelphia Eagles game has 13 players on it.  Cornerback Jaire Alexander and safety Will Redmond were the only two listed as full participants.  Safety Darnell Savage, who has been on a roll in recent games, is dealing with a back injury.  Wide receivers Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, tight end Robert Tonyan and cornerback Chandon Sullivan dropped off the report this week and should be good-to-go.  Under head coach Matt LaFleur the Packers have lost just two-of-13 home games – but one of those losses was to the Eagles.

>>Alvarez:  Big Ten Should Help Ohio State Qualify For National Championship

(Madison, WI)  —  University of Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez says the Big Ten should do what other conferences have done for their top teams – take steps to help Ohio State qualify for the national championship.  The Buckeyes are running out of time to get six games played.  That’s the conference minimum to qualify for its title game. Ohio State has games against Michigan and Michigan State remaining, but Michigan is on pause and its Saturday game this week is canceled.  Most of the sentiment outside the Big Ten is that Ohio State should be left behind, but that may just indicate that nobody wants to play the undefeated Buckeyes.

>>UW Gets First Major Test Of Year Against Marquette

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  No problem so far for the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team.  It has crushed every opponent.  The story is likely to change this afternoon at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum.  Although Marquette is coming off a loss to Oklahoma State, it’s still a stronger opponent than coach Greg Gard’s team has met this season.  The Golden Eagles have a balanced scoring attack for the first time in years.  Senior Koby McEwen averages just under 16 points-a-game for a lineup that has four scorers in double figures.  Freshman Dawson Garcia, Theo John and Jamal Cain will test Micah Potter and Nate Reuvers.  Ohio State transfer D-J Carton may be the wild card for coach Steve Wojciechowski.  A low-scoring game is expected due to strong defenses on both sides of the court.

>>Badgers Face An Indiana Defense Just As Good As Theirs

(Madison, WI)  —  It may come down to turnovers when the Wisconsin Badgers take on Indiana Saturday.  The 10th-ranked Hoosiers will be playing without their number-one quarterback, but they still have a defensive front that leads the Big Ten in sacks.  Redshirt freshman quarterback Graham Mertz didn’t deal with the pressure from Northwestern very well and the Indiana “D” has forced a Big Ten-leading 18 turnovers in six games.  If Mertz looks more like his last game than his first game as a starter, coach Paul Chryst could turn to senior Jack Coan, who is finally eligible to take the first after rehabbing his injury.
