Blank To Become President At Northwestern
UW-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank will be taking over as President of Northwestern University next year. Blank’s last day in Madison isn’t known yet, but she says she will miss Madison, and even Badger game days.
“Well, I may well come back when Northwestern plays, I’ll be wearing my purple! But as you know it’s a great place and I’ve got a lot of friends here, and I would hope that I might show up even after I take another job in Evanston.”
Blank has been chancellor for 9 years, and says she’s happy to leave the University in a better place than when she found it here. She says she’s most proud of the Bucky’s Promise program that’s helped over 4 thousand low-income students get a full education in Madison.
