UW System Will Comply With Vaccine Mandate

The University of Wisconsin System will comply, with the Biden administration’s executive order on COVID-19 vaccinations.

President Joe Biden’s order requires federal contractors to comply with the vaccine mandate. In a statement issued Wednesday, UW System President Tommy said the system “cannot afford to jeopardize millions of dollars in federal contracts, which are integral to academic and research missions.”

The majority of UW campuses have already attained a 70 percent vaccination rate among students. UW-Madison, which is running its own vaccination campaign, has a student vaccination rate over 90 percent.
