NFDL School Board Candidate Drops Out Of Race, Cites Threats.

A North Fond du Lac School Board candidate has dropped out of the race, and is citing on-line threats against her as the reason.

Tracy Norris made the announcement Tuesday on her “Tracy Norris for NFDL School Board” Facebook account.

Norris said a national organization she called a “left-wing hate club” had threatened her life as well as spreading vicious lies about her character.

She went on to say that “it upsets me to back down to people that would condemn me for my beliefs, while their actions against me are absolutely abhorrent and unjust, but I trust that God is sending me in another direction.”

Norris also told KFIZ News that the community needs to know what is happening, when it comes to online and social media bullying, and said she contacted the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department, but that the Department wouldn’t write up a report or investigate.

KFIZ News did reach out to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department and spoke to Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt, who provided a detailed documentation on the original call, placed by Norris on Monday, February 7, 2022, at 4:00 p.m.

The documentation does show the matter was indeed investigated and the findings reported by the deputy.  The investigating deputy reviewed the post on a Facebook page titled “Thee Fond du Lac Underclass” where a “whack jobs are going to wack yo” comment was posted. The deputy reviewed the broader context of that post and related comments, and determined that it was not a threat, but rather a statement.

Other posts, comments, and emojis were also reviewed and determined not to be criminal violations.  Waldschmidt also said, additionally, “none of these posts or comments that were reported and reviewed contained threats against her(Norris’) life, and nothing in the investigation met the criteria of a hate crime.”

We did reach out to one of the groups reportedly responsible for posting the comments, and were told “there won’t be an interview that is based on lies. We have our own websites that we work with and if we have something to say, then we will say it as always.”

Norris has been outspoken regarding the masking mandates within the NFDL School District, as well her opposition to Critical Race Theory being taught in public schools.

A scan of her Facebook pages shows verbal sparring with at least one other School Board candidate.
