On Monday, August 21, the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation invites community supporters to the 2017 Charity Open for an eventful day of golf at South Hills Golf & Country Club.
Proceeds from the event support Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Hope and help ensure that all patients have access to these vital services regardless of their ability to pay.
This year, the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation Charity Open is being led by Dr. Burt and Alysia Steffes as senior chairpersons, with Tim and Rose Ahern joining as junior chairpersons.
“The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation Charity Open sets large goals and this year is no different,” says Dr. Steffes. “Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Hope services are vital to this community, and I’m proud to be a part of an event that directly supports the hospice mission.”
Continued financial support is essential to help patients that are facing end of life. The mission of hospice is to affirm life and view dying as a natural process. Hospice is designed to help patients live the remainder of their lives as fully as possible.
“Charity Open, on the surface, is a fun and engaging event, but the meaning behind it is much deeper,” says Dr. Steffes. “We are extremely grateful to those who help support the patients and families who ultimately benefit from the Charity Open.”
Currently, the Charity Open committee is making plans for another great day of golf, elegant dining and exciting auctions. This year’s raffle gives people the opportunity to win the first-place prize of a 2017 Buick Encore or a $15,000 cash prize, donated by Holiday Automotive. The second prize is $5,000 cash; third prize is $2,500 cash; fourth prize is $1,500 cash; and fifth place is $1,000 cash. A limited number of tickets will be sold at $50 each or four for $175. The purchase of six raffle tickets helps provide one day of hospice care for one person.
“Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Hope serves nearly 900 individuals and families annually,” says Holly Brenner, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation president. “Nearly half of all Hospice Home of Hope patients receive some financial assistance for room and board.
“The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation is proud to support Hospice Hope and the Hospice Home of Hope through its annual Charity Open,” Brenner adds. “And, we appreciate the ongoing support that individuals, business leaders and organizations give to the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation to help us continue to meet the growing need for hospice care in our communities.”
