Air Boat Accident On Flooded Beaver Dam River

Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies responded to air boat crash on the flooded portion of the Beaver Dam River late Thursday night. It happened north of the Ranch Road boat launch in the Township of Shields. Officials say three passengers including the operator of the air boat, 23-year-old Erik Joost of Waukesha, were ejected from it after it struck a tree. Joost and two other men suffered non-life threatening injuries. A fourth man was not injured. All four were able to get back into the boat and drive it to the boat launch. The accident was reported a little after 11 p.m. None of the men were local.
