AmFam Field Moves Closer To Improvement Funding

A $545 million dollar package to fund improvements at the Brewers stadium, American Family Field, passed the Wisconsin State Assembly on Tuesday.

It raises taxes on players and staff who pass through AmFam Field, and requires Milwaukee city and county to pay more to upkeep the park. The chamber voted 69-27 to approve the package. The Senate is expected to vote on the plan in November, but senators may attach amendments and send the measure back to the Assembly, the proposal’s sponsors said. Both houses must agree on the same version before the plan can go to Governor Evers for his signature.
