Arsonist accused of setting congressman’s office on fire to make initial court appearance

The 19-year-old man who admitted to starting a fire on the outside of a building housing Congressman Glen Grothman’s office in Fond du Lac January 19th, 2025, will be making his initial court appearance Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

The Neenah man, who hasn’t been named yet, was upset over a ban of the social media site Tik Tok, and that was the reason he started the fire.

When police and fire arrived on the scene of the fire, the man was still on the scene and told authorities at that time he started the fire. The fire made it inside the wall of the building, but outside of a little smoke, there was no damage to the inside of the building.
