Arsonist convicted of setting multiple Fond du Lac area fires

The man accused of lighting several marshy area fires throughout Fond du Lac County over the last several years has been convicted of his crimes.

40-year-old Daniel Enright was convicted Wednesday in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court of setting multiple fires in Fond du Lac County.

Enright pleaded guilty to two counts of intentionally setting fire to someone else’s land, and one count of arson of property other than a building. Four other counts against Enright were dismissed.

The charges stem from fires set in the county between March of 2020 and April of 2022. According to the criminal complaint, Enright admitted lighting the fires to relieve stress.

He will be sentenced March 1st.
