At least three dead in multi state incident ending in Dane County

***UPDATE*** The male suspect that shot his way into the house on Ramsey Road was found deceased with a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Law enforcement in two states are piecing together what led to a woman being killed in Dubuque County, Iowa, and a wild shoot out on a Wisconsin interstate and ultimately a stand off in a Dane County area where one of the suspects, possibly the Iowa woman’s daughter, was found dead and another was barricaded in a house for hours.

Preliminary investigating has the suspects dropping a baby off at a Charles Lane address northwest of the City of Stoughton. The vehicle then fled with a reported man driving and a 13-year-old girl passenger.

Minutes later a Dane County officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but the vehicle wouldn’t stop. The chase proceeded north into Mc Farland and then east on interstate 90. At this point the officer noted the passenger started shooting at him with a rifle. According to the officer, the passenger shot while leaning out the passenger side window, from the sunroof and then through the back window.

At some point in the pursuit, a tire deflation device was used to deflate one of the tires on the fleeing vehicle.

The driver then exited on Highway 51 in Stoughton and the two suspects ran into a wooded area. The man was seen shooting his way into a residence on Ramsey Road at the same time the home owners called 911 saying a man with a gun was shooting at their house trying to get in.

Police surrounded the house and rescued the three occupants through an upstairs window while at least one gun shot was heard from the basement area. The female suspect was eventually found deceased in a wooded area while police worked for hours on the Ramsey Road house trying to get the man to surrender. As of 3 AM this morning police were still on the scene.

This is a developing story and KFIZ will have more as more details are released today sometime.
