ATV/UTV Usage Could Be Approved In Chilton

Residents in Chilton could be riding ATV’s and UTV’s on city streets. Residents there are being asked to fill out an online survey and give their input regarding the issue.

Nearby New Holstein has already approved ATV and UTV usage within the city limits there. Over 60 permits have been issued already in the first year. And New Holstein simply used a plan that Brillion had already put in place allowing 4-wheeler usage.

City officials in Chilton have held out as long as possible, citing traffic with Highways 32 and 57, as well as Highway 151 all running through town. The survey is open until the end of September, and if there’s support for the plan, a vote could happen before the end of the year.
