Aurora Medical Center – Fond du Lac now open

Aurora Medical Center – Fond du Lac, Aurora Health Care’s newest hospital, officially opened its doors this morning to patients in our community.

Initially announced in 2020 and delayed due to the pandemic, construction on the 70,000 square foot hospital addition began in summer 2022. Now with 185,000 square feet of clinical space at 210 Wisconsin American Drive, the new facility expands access to specialty care and surgical procedures that are cost-effective and close to home.

“Aurora Medical Center – Fond du Lac stands as a testament to our dedication to meeting the growing health care needs of our community,” said Jeff Bard, President of Aurora’s North Wisconsin Area, Aurora Medical Center – Oshkosh and Aurora Medical Center – Fond du Lac. “We are proud to embark on this journey of expanding our reach and making a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals.”

Aurora Medical Center – Fond du Lac consists of an 8-bay emergency department, 10 overnight stay beds for patients needing orthopedic, general and abdominal surgeries, an operating and recovery area, pharmacy, diagnostics and lab. The facility is home to more than 65 clinicians representing 28 medical specialties including urgent care, emergency department and inpatient and outpatient surgery.

“We’ve been growing with the community since we started a clinic here in 1995,” said Dr. Carla Kelly, Chief Medical Officer, Aurora Medical Center – Oshkosh and Aurora Medical Center – Fond du Lac. “I couldn’t be happier as we begin offering more care to the community right here, right now. Together, our team here at Aurora Medical Center – Fond du Lac will serve the county’s current and future generations, keeping the community healthy for years to come.”

Completed on-time and on-budget at $74 million, the new facility will help drive operational efficiencies, sustainable environments and better patient outcomes.

“The goal of this expansion was to be able to provide greater access to convenient, high-quality health care to people in the Fond du Lac area. This opening is a milestone for our patients, our communities and our organization and delivers on our commitment to helping people live well,” said Bard.
