Austin Straubel International Airport sees busiest travel day as fans leave NFL draft

NFL fans seemed to stagger into the area ahead of the draft weekend, but pretty much all left at once. This was evident at Green Bay’s Austin Straubel International Airport which had a record number of travelers on Sunday which broke the old record set nearly a decade ago.
NFL fans from around the country were impressed with the hospitality the airport provided which actually had a makeshift tailgate party onsite providing brats, kringle and spotted cow beer.
As we reported in the weeks leading up to the draft, Austin Straubel was looking for volunteers to help with the expected rush of travelers and those volunteers turned out almost 150 strong.
Airport officials say more than 2000 travelers passed through the airport over the weekend with no major issues to slow things down.
