Authorities called to Fond du Lac County barn fire… twice

Officials in Fond du Lac County responded to a barn fire Saturday night… Twice.

The first time was just after 9 p.m. when a passerby called 911 and reported a barn on fire at W1502 Old Bridge Road between Campbellsport and Kewaskum.

At that time the Kewaskum Fire Department and some deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded. The first deputy on the scene met with the property owner who stated it was a controlled fire, so all responding units were cancelled.

About 15 minutes later however, the property owner was the one calling 911 to report that the fire was now out of control.

Upon arrival again, deputies saw the fire of the approximately 40 foot by 60 foot barn had intensified to the point that it began threatening nearby structures.

Kewaskum Fire was again called to the scene and they requested water trucks to assist them from Campbellsport and Eden Fire Departments.

Due to the firefighting efforts of those responding, No other structures were reported to have been damaged.
