B-29s Doc and Fifi coming to AirVenture

Fans of the World War II and Koreon War flown B-29 will be happy to know the only two planes in existence still flying will be making their way back to EAA’s Air Venture this year.
supporting the “Turning the Tide” salute to 1944 and the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Doc’ and ‘FIFI will make a joint appearance at the fly in, marking only the 4th time they have appeared together in the last 40 years.

EAA’s vice president of communities and member programs Rick Larsen said “As AirVenture is the world’s largest annual gathering of warbirds, bringing these two iconic aircraft together is another of those ‘Only at Oshkosh’ moments.”
The B-29 is an American four-engine, propeller-driven heavy bomber designed for high-altitude strategic bombing.
B-29s dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, making them the only aircraft ever to drop nuclear weapons in combat.
EAA’s Air Venture takes place in Oshkosh on the EAA grounds July 22nd through the 28th.
