Ball Python Captured By Fond du Lac Police In City

FOND DU LAC – A slithery suspect was apprehended by City of Fond du Lac Police officers early Monday afternoon, September 19, 2022.

Shortly after noon, officers were dispatched to the area of 9th Street and Walker Street for a report of a snake that was found.

Construction workers in the area uncovered the slippery serpent when they lifted a downed sign up against the building at 288 west 9th Street.

Officers determined the approximate four foot long snake was a ball python.

Officers were able to handle the snake and placed it in a bag while they investigated what to do with it.

A call to the Wisconsin DNR steered them in the direction of an exotic animal rescue in Neenah which took in the reptile.
