BCI Burke announces community scholarship program for dedicated students

BCI Burke, a leading U.S. playground equipment manufacturer since 1920, has introduced the BCI Burke Community Scholarship Program for Wisconsin high school students pursuing higher education degrees.

The BCI Burke Community Scholarship Program was developed to help students move their minds and further their education. Burke will award two scholarships to help offset selected students’ educational expenses.

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, graphic design or business.

One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a Moraine Park Technical College or Fox Valley Technical College student enrolled in an Interactive Media Design, Mechanical Design Technology, Mechanical CAD Drafting, Digital Media or Welding program.

Applicants must be residents of Wisconsin to be eligible for either scholarship.  “This region has been BCI Burke’s home for more than a century, and this program is a small token of our appreciation for the people who have helped make our business what it is today,” said Michael Phelan, president and CEO of BCI Burke. “I can think of no better way to give back to our state than to help some of its best and brightest young people gain a post-secondary education. It’s our hope that the recipients of these scholarships will become the kind of leaders who will help Wisconsin become an even greater place to live and work.”

Applications for the inaugural awards will be accepted from March 1 – May 1, 2024. Recipients will be announced and the scholarships awarded in late spring 2024. Interested students should visit Burke’s Community Scholarship page for eligibility information and to apply online.
