Be Careful With Social Media
An administrator with the state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says to watch out for links to malicious sites on Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites. Frank Frassetto says be leery of free follower apps you may see on Twitter. He says they could compromise your account and violate Twitter’s rules. He says sites like Facebook are also looking to protect you, but you should be careful about those who you let into your circle of friends because even though they say they are friends of friends they may be just trying to get information they can use against you. He says even messages that are supposedly from a friend may be from someone who was able to hack into a friend’s account.
