Bicyclist seriously hurt after being struck by car in Oshkosh

Police in Oshkosh are investigating a car vs bicycle crash that occurred Tuesday, August 20, 2024, on Highway 21 at Westhaven Drive on the city’s west side.

Just after 4:30 PM, Police and rescue were notified of the crash involving a female riding a bicycle and a car. Investigation showed the female rode her bicycle into the intersection and was then struck by a 62-year-old woman from Oshkosh, who was traveling westbound on Highway 21. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

The Oshkosh Police Department Accident Investigation Team was on scene along with detectives and had closed the highway for five hours while they investigated the scene.

The highway reopened around 9:40 PM.
