Bleached Puppies Going To New Homes This Weekend
There are mixed emotions at the Fond du Lac Humane Society this weekend as two puppies that were doused with bleach leave for new homes. Shelter Manager Renee Webb says the puppies were checked by a veterinarian Wednesday and cleared to be adopted by their new families. She says dozens of families applied for Ike, Tina and Turner. Ike, who was unharmed in last month’s incident, has been with his new family for about a week. An 8-year-old Fond du Lac boy tossed bleach on Turner and spilled some on Tina. He then put Turner in a garbage bag and placed him in a dumpster. Webb says Turner will always be susceptible to lung diseases, but if you didn’t know it looks like a healthy puppy. She says she’s got her box of tissue ready for when Tina and Turner leave and there will be plenty of smiles and tears. Meanwhile contributions are still being taken to the Sweetie Medical Fund.
