Blowing snow/slippery roads leads to numerous cars in the ditch/crashes on I-41 Monday morning
Strong winds from the west and a fresh dose of powdery snow caused major problems in Fond du Lac and Winnebago Counties Monday morning, January 19, 2026.
Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and troopers with the Wisconsin State Patrol handled run offs up and down I-41 as the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the area.
In Winnebago County, three separate two vehicle crashes occurred between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-41 on the Lake Butte des Morts Bridge. Reports from the scene stated there were no injuries and one lane remained open for traffic to pass.
