Boat destroyed by fire on Fox Lake

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded along with the Fox Lake Fire Department to a report of a boat on fire, on Fox Lake Sunday morning.

Shortly before 11 a.m., numerous 911 calls reported a boat fully engulfed in fire on the lake. Callers reported that all occupants were able to jump from the boat and were picked up by other boaters.

The boat was towed to shore by the fire department, where the fire was extinguished and the boat later removed from the lake by a tow company.

The sheriff’s office says there is no indications the occupants’ actions or inactions had any cause of the fire. The boat had been purchased the previous day and was being operated legally. No injuries were reported.
