Body found in Door County state park – Police investigating

Police in Door County are investigating the death of a 61-year-old woman that was found in a state park there yesterday morning.

Officials received a call shortly after 8 a.m. saying there was a body in the water in Peninsula State Park.

Sheriff’s office officials as well as fire and ambulance crews and the Wisconsin DNR all responded to the scene. The woman was retrieved from the water shortly after.

Police say they have identified the woman and were in the process of notifying her family.

No other details have been released, though officials say the park is still open to the public.
