Brendan Dassey Being Released From Prison

Brendan Dassey is being released from prison. A federal judge ordered his release Monday while he waits to be retried for Teresa Halbach’s murder in Manitowoc County. Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel is seeking an emergency motion to prevent that from happening. It was filed with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. The 27-year-old Dassey and his Uncle, Steven Avery, are serving life in prison terms for the murder of the free-lance photographer in 2005. The U.S. Probation Office will make sure Dassey lives up to terms of his release. A Netflix documentary series, “Making of a Murder” brought worldwide attention to the case.
