Brown County opens phone lines for NFL Draft timeframe camping

The temperature may be getting colder outside, and winter is surly on the way, but hundreds of people have camping on their minds in northeast Wisconsin. This is because the Brown County Parks Department opened up the phone lines to take camping reservations for April of next year during the 2025 NFL Draft that will be held in Green Bay.

The county will allow camping at three county campgroundsā€¦ Bay Shore Campground in extreme north east Brown County, the Reforestation camp near Suamico, and at the Brown County Fairgrounds in De Pere.

Brown County Parks receptionists say calls were coming into their office non stop Tuesday, September 24, 2024 for the reservations.

Brown County announced in August they would be opening up some of their county campgrounds early next year to help accommodate some of the nearly 250,000 people that would be in town for the draft which takes place April 24th through the 26th.

Board members struggled with what to charge for the campsites as area private campgrounds were charging well over $100 per night, but ultimately it was decided to not use the opportunity to price gouge visitors to the county, so after expenses were weighed out, the county decided on a three night minimum for $100 per night.
