Brush Fire Destroys Barn In Alto, But No Injuries

A smoldering brush pile appears to be the cause of a barn fire that occurred Monday afternoon, June 15, 2020. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department and Alto Fire Department were called to the scene at 1:21 p.m., at N3062 Hwy 49 in the Township of Alto, for a fully engulfed barn fire.  The fire had spread to the barn from a nearby brush pile that had been smoldering. No animals or fire fighters were injured during the fire.  The barn is a total loss. 

The owner of the property is Allen Ehlts of Waupun.

Assisting at the scene, were Waupun Fire Department, Brandon-Fairwater Fire Department, North Fond du Lac Fire Department, City of Fond du Lac Fire Department along with Waupun Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Fond du Lac County Highway Department.
