Campbellsport Girls Track Eyes Conference Championship

Campbellsport High School continues to shine on the track in 2025, building on the momentum of last year’s standout season. In 2024, Josh Owunili etched his name into school history by capturing two state titles in the boys’ division. Now competing at the University of Kentucky, Owunili’s success has set a high bar—and inspired a new wave of excellence.

This year, it’s the girls’ track team stepping into the spotlight. For the first time in over 50 years, they are serious contenders for a conference title, driven by a historic performance from senior standout Lydia Toshner. Toshner has shattered expectations—and records—claiming five individual school records and contributing to two more in relays. No athlete in Campbellsport track history has ever achieved such a feat.

With a legacy of champions and a new generation rising, Campbellsport’s track program is not just thriving—it’s rewriting the record books.

KFIZ Sports Director Chuck Freimund visits with Campbellsport track coach Derek Toshner to talk about this years team.
