Campbellsport man thought he eluded police only to get arrested after the chase

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has gotten so good at apprehending high speed pursuit suspects, they don’t even need to catch the suspect in the act to make an arrest.

On Monday, just before 10:30 a.m., a deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was conducting radar enforcement on County Highway V in the Town of Eden.

The deputy observed a southbound vehicle traveling well above the posted 55 mph speed limit. As the deputy pulled out behind the vehicle with lights and siren, the driver accelerated to approximately 100 mph.

The driver failed to stop and continued operating at excessive speeds, passing other motorists in
no-passing zones, turning eastbound onto Woodland Drive and then southbound onto County Highway W.

As the vehicle continued toward the Village of Campbellsport, the deputy made the decision to terminate the pursuit in the interest of public safety, with the expectation that the driver would reduce speed upon entering the village.

Following the incident, deputies worked to identify the driver of the vehicle, and on Thursday, deputies established probable cause and took 32-year-old Trevor Nolan of Campbellsport into custody.
Nolan was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges of Felony Fleeing and Eluding and Felony Bail Jumping. At the time of the incident, Nolan was out on bond for Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Narcotic Drugs. He is also currently on probation for a previous Fleeing and Eluding charge.
