Cardinal Field Officially Opened And School District Debuts New Logos

The Fond du Lac School District held a joint ribbon cutting for the new Cardinal Field Stadium and rebranding ceremony for each of it’s schools in the district last night.

The district, which is comprised of 13 elementary and middle schools besides the high school has new logos for each school. They were debuted in a music video on a screen in front of about 200 students, parents and former school alumni that showed up for the event in the new Cardinal Stadium last night.

The event, titled Kicking Off A New Era, was comprised of the field ribbon cutting, Speakers from the Board of Education, Cardinal Field Donors, staff and
alumni. Those who couldn’t make it to speak live contributed to a video recorded and shown on a jumbo screen displayed on the new, still unmarked track.
These recordings featured former coaches, staff and past and recent sports success alumni like Travis Diener and Braelon Allen.

School sports teams took to the field for the first time in front of the crowd, while kids from district elementary schools threw t-shirts with new school logos into the stands and the school band played for the crowd.

The event was capped off with a light show from the new stadium lights set to Metallica’s version of the Bob Seger classic Turn the Page. The show was just less than spectacular due to the daytime sun, but a promise was made to anyone coming to the football game this Friday night that they will get to see the light show in all it’s glory at that time under cover of darkness.

That game will be broadcast right here on KFIZ with a pregame show starting at 6 PM.
