Cases of Lung Disease Linked to Vaping Jump in Both WI, Nation

Fond du Lac County is now one of the counties in Wisconsin with
a confirmed case of severe lung disease linked to vaping. That information
comes from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, which reports 60 cases
of lung disease in Wisconsin as of Thursday, with another 14 patients whose
cases need further investigation. 26 counties, including Fond du Lac County,
now have confirmed cases in Wisconsin according to DHS. The majority of cases
continue to report using e-cigarettes or other vaping devices to inhale
products containing THC, the active ingredient in Marijuana. On a national level,
the Centers for Disease Control reports a 52-percent increase in cases over the
last week, as the number of confirmed or probable cases rose to 805 in the
United States. The CDC reports at least 12 deaths across 10 states in data that
was updated as of Tuesday this week.
