Cheese Lovers Paradise
There are a lot of cheese lovers in Wisconsin, but a Van Dyne man got a unique opportunity this week to be in a cheese lover’s paradise. Kirk Everson was a volunteer during the United States Championship Cheese Competition at Green Bay’s Lambeau Field Atrium. He helped sort and number cheeses last Friday in preparation for this week’s judging and attended the event Tuesday. He says you lay in front of him the availability to hang out with some of the best mold ripened, aged, smear ripened cheeses and other flavored cheeses he can’t pass that up. He says it is phenomenal. Everson even took a cheese grading class in Madison so he knows his cheeses. He will be attending an event at the K.I. Convention Center in Green Bay Thursday night where you get to sample the 40 champion cheeses. It is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. He says beer and wine will also be served. Tickets are $25 each and available at the U.S Champion Cheese website. Photo courtesy Patrick Flood Photography.
