Child Abduction Near Pier School Proves To Be False
What was originally reported to be a stranger trying to abduct a child at Pier School on Tuesday, turned out to be a false alarm.
Fond du Lac Police were notified by a female caller Tuesday afternoon just before 3:40 p.m., who said she thought she saw a male, driving a white van with a black stripe, trying to pick up a child near the school.
The van then took off, heading south on Park Ave.
Further investigation showed a 59-year old male operator of the van actually worked for Locate Staffing, and was dropping off a client near the school. The company did confirm the man did work for them.
The male told officers he never tried to get any children into the work van, while the female caller said she didn’t actually see the man try to get any child into the vehicle.
FDL PD considers the matter closed.
