Children’s Museum Ribbon Cutting
Several hundred people turned up for the ribbon-cutting
and grand re-opening for the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac Friday afternoon.
Their new location at 75 West Scott Street in Fond du Lac is open and ready for
visitors. Among those to speak at the ribbon-cutting ceremony were the Museum’s
Executive Director Andrea Welsch, City Manager Joe Moore, Fond du Lac County
Economic Development Corporation President Steve Jenkins, and State
Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt. Moore kidded that getting evicted from the
former Windhover Center for the Arts worked out pretty well. He said the
Children’s Museum now has it’s own home and Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts an
expanded and impressive facility of its own. He also said the Children’s
Museum’s new location will help revitalize that area of the City. State
Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt said he’s always impressed with how the Fond du
Lac Community will support tsuch efforts and people will see just how generous
that support is when they get a look at the Children’s Museum. Grand re-opening
activities continue at the Children’s Museum throughout the weekend.
