Chuck Freimund Returns to KFIZ as Sports Director

A Wisconsin sports broadcasting pioneer is returning home to KFIZ. Chuck Freimund, who worked at the station from 1996 to 2005, is back as Sports Director. “I’m thrilled to once again be covering the great high school sports scene in the Fond du Lac area on the legendary KFIZ,” says Freimund. He will anchor local sports reports weekday mornings on the KFIZ Today program, host “KFIZ Sports Night” Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and serve as lead play-by-play announcer for KFIZ’s high school basketball coverage. “Chuck brings years of valuable experience to the team, and is the perfect person to lead KFIZ’s coverage of high school sports,” says Randy Hopper, President and owner of Mountain Dog Media.
Freimund will continue to host “Football Friday Night” on KFIZ from 9:30 p.m until 11 p.m. on Fridays during the high school football season. Nick Van Nocker will serve as the lead play-by-play announcer for KFIZ’s high school football coverage, with Shawn Kiser as well as 107.1 The Bull’s “Moose in the Morning” serving as color commentators. Freimund and Van Nocker will also host a comprehensive pregame show before every Friday night football broadcast, with interviews from area coaches, and previews of local matchups.
Freimund’s first day back on KFIZ will be Monday, August 14th.
