City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue kept busy with calls Wednesday

Blame it on the full moon, or maybe it’s just a coincidence… Regardless, the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue was very busy with calls Wednesday, September 18, 2024. At one point, in a 5 1/2 hour period, they were paged out to 13 separate calls. During that period, with all the available ambulance rigs out on calls, they had to have the North Fond du Lac Ambulance crew come in to take a call.

Here is a breakdown of the heaviest volume of calls mid day.

10:43 Medical call

10:55 Medical call

10:59 Medical call

And of course if local fire/rescue departments are busy, this means the backbone to the whole system was busy as well. The 911 call takers and dispatchers in the Fond du Lac County Communications Center. Not only are they dealing with these calls, but also working with non emergency calls, calls for police as well as working the radios with city and county law enforcement.
