City of Fond du Lac – Weekly Construction Update

The City of Fond du Lac is providing a weekly update on construction projects located within the corporate boundary. The Weekly Construction Updates and Construction Map are posted on the City’s Website at www.fdl.wi.gov.

All anticipated construction activities are weather dependent.

Pioneer Road – Martin Avenue to CTH V

Schedule: April 24 through September 28, 2024

Description: The WI Dept of Transportation, along with Fond du Lac County, and the City of Fond du Lac awarded this project to Vinton Construction. Construction includes common excavation, sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, concrete sidewalk and curb & gutter, an asphalt pedestrian path and roadway, traffic signals & roadway lighting, permanent signing, and other incidentals.

June 3 to June 7: The contractor will continue work on water main on CTH VV.

Traffic Impacts: Pioneer Road (CTH VV) is closed to through traffic for the duration of the project.

Detour is as follows: Park Avenue to 9th Street to FDL Avenue to CTH V and vice versa

Rees Street – Main Street to Marquette Street and Marquette Street – Merrill Avenue to Johnson Street

Schedule: April 15 through October

Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.

June 3 to June 7: Contractor will continue working on sanitary and water laterals.

Traffic Impacts: Rees Street and Marquette Street are closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Doty Street – W. Division Street to Bridge

Schedule: April 15 through October

Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.

June 3 to June 7: Contractor will begin fine grading and setting string line for concrete pavement and curb and gutter for stage 2. Concrete will be poured mid-week

Traffic Impacts: Doty Street is closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

W. Division Street – Brooke Street to Bridge

Schedule: May 2024 through June

Description: The project includes roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping

June 3 to June 7: Contractor will begin concrete pavement and finish sidewalk.

Traffic Impacts: Division Street will be closed to vehicle and resident foot traffic from Brooke Street to Tallmadge Street until July 2024. Residents, business owners, and customers should find an alternate route. There is no signed detour as part of this project. Parking is not permitted in the project area as the road is closed.

Ledgeview Avenue – Amory Street to N. Park Avenue

Schedule: May 2024 through August

Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.

June 3 to June 7: Contractor will begin Water main installation.

Traffic Impacts: Ledgeview Avenue will be closed to vehicle and resident foot traffic from Amory Street to N. Park Avenue until August 2024. Residents, business owners, and customers should find an alternate route. There will be a signed detour for a portion of N. Park Avenue work as part of this project. Parking is not permitted in the project area as the road is closed.
