Commonwealth Closing Trinity And Coffee House
Monday the Commonwealth Companies announced the upcoming closure of their two restaurants in Fond du Lac. Regrettably we were not able to meet customers’ expectations. That fact coupled with concerns in the community of our involvement in too many local ventures has eroded sales. Given Commonwealth’s growing success outside the city and state the logical conclusion is for us to remain focused on our core business – real estate development and construction.
Trinity Restaurant and Hall opened in 2012 with much success. Chef and Operating Partner Ted Buetow of locally renowned Theos Restaurant transformed the former church site into the cornerstone of the downtown Fond du Lac Arts and Entertainment District. “We’d like to thank our friends, family, and vendors for your stalwart support over the last 2 years. We are so proud of the blood, sweat, and tears that went into creating Trinity, and it is heartbreaking to have to close now”, remarked the Chef. Knowing Chef Ted, he will not remain idle for long. Trinity will continue operations until December 13th with dinner operations during the week on Tuesday through Friday (4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.) and full hours on the weekends (11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 – 8 p.m. Sunday). Customers with valid gift cards are encouraged to dine with us during these remaining weeks as they will no longer be valid after the closing date.
In addition, as of November 14th the Commonwealth Coffee Company & Deli will cease operations. Opened earlier this year, the local coffee house had a loyal following with some but struggled to develop a sustainable following in downtown Fond du Lac. Our customers helped create a unique diversion to the typical chain restaurant and coffee space. Customers of Commonwealth Coffee can utilize valid gift cards between now and the closing date or redeem for cash by November 14th.
Commonwealth will work to find operating tenants for the two spaces over the coming months. Our plan is to find tenants interested in continuing restaurant operations or utilizing the space for alternate plans.
