Community invited to donate blood at SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital Blood Drive on August 18

SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital is asking community members to roll up their sleeves and help replenish the local blood supply.

The hospital will host an ImpactLife blood drive Tuesday, August 18th, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Marsh Conference Room at the hospital, located at 620 West Brown Street in Waupun.

SSM Health caregivers and members of the community are encouraged to participate. Walk-ins and first-time donors are welcome, and donors should bring a valid photo I-D.

Organizers say blood supplies typically decline during the summer as people travel and spend more time with family.

Those planning to donate are encouraged to get at least eight hours of sleep the night before, eat a nutritious breakfast, and stay well hydrated. A dinner containing iron- and protein-rich foods, such as eggs, meat, leafy greens and fruit, is also recommended.

Donors must not have given blood somewhere else since June 23rd in order to be eligible.
