Contract Approved With Transit Union Employees
The
City Council recently approved a three-year contract with Transit Union
employees. The contract runs through 2019 and gives those employees a 3.5
percent wage increase each year. Labor Relations Coordinator Chad Wade says the
City did get some things in return. He says there were changes to post
retirement health insurance and the good attendance bonus program. He says they
negotiated a freeze to the current good attendance bonus program and replaced
the post-retirement year of free health insurance benefits with a one-time
payment. The same payment was made the general employees earlier this year. The
City was also given unilateral authority to modify the health insurance plan to
match the general employee plan.
