Cool, drier air gives us a break from heat and humidity this week

A high pressure passing to our north is finally allowing us to enjoy some lower dewpoint values as a cold front passed through the area Sunday, July 6, 2025.
After dewpoints reaching 74 degrees on Saturday and 71 Sunday, winds from the north have pushed a cooler and drier airmass over us with dewpoints as low as 52 degrees Monday morning.
The more comfortable conditions will continue through the week with only a slight warm up by Friday.
Monday we see plenty of sunshine with temperatures reaching up to near 80 degrees.
This sunshine will be short-lived however as a small upper level disturbance passes over head starting late Monday night into Tuesday. This will bring a line of thunderstorms into northern Wisconsin over night Monday and those showers move our way, affecting us Tuesday starting around mid day. The line should be diminishing as it approaches but models are showing plenty of moisture and dynamics available to keep rain in the forecast for much of the afternoon into Tuesday night.
A few showers could produce brief heavy downpours, however organized severe weather is not expected at this time.
That little ripple in the mid level jet stream is quick to move on and Wednesday we again see sunshine and drier weather as a high pressure builds back in. This high will keep things quiet through Thursday with mostly sunny skies and highs around 80 with pleasant lows around 60 both Wednesday and Thursday night.
Then Friday it looks like we return to a more unsettled pattern for the weekend as a low pressure develops right over Wisconsin, bringing the next chance of rain along with some slightly warmer temperatures as highs get back into the mid 80s, though they cool slightly as a cold front associated with the low passes, knocking temps down a few degrees for Saturday and Sunday.
We will see a chance of scattered showers through the weekend as this low departs and another takes aim on Wisconsin that will move in by Monday.
