Crews Extinguish Enclosed Porch Fire

Fond du Lac Fire Rescue crews responded Thursday evening just after 7:00 p.m. to a report of a fire on a residential porch in the 100 block of Third Street.

Upon arrival crews found smoke coming from the enclosed front porch of a two story single family home. A bystander had noticed the fire and proceeded to extinguish prior to the arrival of Fire Rescue. Fire crews extinguished the remaining fire before it was able to enter the interior of the home.

There was moderate damage to the contents within the immediate area of the fire and a portion of the doorway. Fond du Lac Fire Rescue and the FDL PD continue to work to determine the cause of the fire.
