Dance At The Shack Will Benefit Agricultural Education Center
A Spring Dairy Dance Party will be held at The Shack in Fond du Lac Friday to benefit the capital campaign for Wisconsin’s Agricultural Education Center. Melissa Bender is the Director of Education and Programs for the Center. She says 18 individuals who were farmers and in Ag Businesses from the Manitowoc Area came up with the idea for the Center, which will be built in Southern Manitowoc County. She says they became a non-profit organization and purchased 26 acres off I-43 to build the visitor center. She says the Center will have a lot of space to utilize. She says that will include a 29,000 square foot area for a conference center to seat 300 people. There will also be a 10,000 square foot area for exhibit space and a birthing barn. They have launched a capital campaign and already have raised 86 percent of the $13 million they need. Doors at The Shack will open at 6:30 Friday night for the Spring Dairy Dance Party with music beginning at seven. A $10 donation at the door would be appreciated.
