Defendants In Young Girls Sexual Assault At Different Stages In Court Cases

While one Fond du Lac man suspected of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl pled to a 2nd degree sexual assault of a child charge this week, another maintained his innocence. Eighteen-year-old Tory Tuinstra pled to the charge Monday, while co-defendant 41-year-old Shane Berg (pictured) did not plead to a 1st degree sexual assault charge during his plea hearing the same day. A three-day jury trial is scheduled for Berg next month. Forty-year-old Ellen Neumann of Fond du Lac also faces charges for being party to the crime and failing to do nothing about it. She was found competent to stand trial and has a plea hearing on January 3rd.  All three lived in the same apartment building as the girl.
